Southern California - Spingineer is coming to SoCal

... so what .... Actually, I was trying to come down last weekend, but I was stuck on this stupid call from 8 am till a little after 6 pm. I normally would get out by 3 pm, so that would have been perfect to get on the road by 3 pm on a Friday, to drive down to LA. I was not getting on the road after 6 PM on a Friday. I wouldn't get into SoCal till after midnight. I decided to stay home this past weekend.

It's a good thing I did. We had a big, emotional, heart-wrenching memorial ride to the crash site for Matt and Kristy (the ones struck by the sheriff last weekend). We had about 1000 riders, riding for 45 minutes, what would normally take 20 minutes. I was glad I was there for this, but I still feel a bit skittish about riding through the same area of the crash site.

Coming down this weekend will be a bit of therapy for me. Just hoping there is a group to ride with, unless everyone is out of town.

Well, you can hop down to Oceanside for a century on Sunday. :)

Hey Ron, Maybe you're the best place to start for this...I'm concerned that Orange_99 has been missing from the Bike Journal for 2 weeks! I've been enjoying seeing him go head to head in the top three for miles this year. Do you know anything,? is he ok?

I don't know who Orange_99 is. So now that you know I'm heading down to SoCal, don't lead a really fun NorCal BF ride this weekend ... you know I have to be in the middle of everything :D

hmmm ... which one? If I do it, you know you'll be finished hours ahead of me.I don't think so. We've only rode GMR together and we're about the same speed. My flat land riding is worse than my climbing only rides. Either way, I don't think you'll need to worry about the speed aspect of it.

BTW, that ride is actually on Saturday instead of Sunday.

I'm going to need some company at the very back of the pack.

I'll be riding, Ron, just not sure where yet. I might do a ride over in the Rose Bowl Canyons on Easter Morning if you think you'd like to join.

Got a call from Rock Racing and they want to see what it's like to ride with a real bike club...so they went thru the list and after passing on SoCal they decided to go with NorCal, something about NorCal being able to keep up. Oh! and Champagne lunch and signed jerseys in Napa Saturday. You don't think this will start a flame do you?

Right by the Grove. I.Martin Imports shouldn't be that far from there (http://www.imartinbikes.blogspot.com/). At least that's the only one I remember from when I was working at E! 10 years ago.

That's ok. Thanks for letting me know. I'll probably just do a ride with Stan's Monrovia, over to the rose bowl area. It is easter sunday, so I'm not surprised at all.
