I've been watching you guys from a ways back. I put my head down and finally, today, caught on. If you don't mind, I'll probably hang with you for awhile. It feels nice to be the young guy again.

Welcome, but beware. If you're not incited to buy five bikes you don't need, you'll be a rare case.

Very funny bunch, though - I like it here

I've tried to simplify as I got older. I'm down to five bikes at present, and probably really only need three of them. But you never know...

You're 24?

This is what I like about these internet forums. Out in the real world, I haven't been mistaken for 24 in decades. I have bikes that are 24.

I have bikes that are 24.

Last year I replaced my 25-year-old mountain bike. This year I will be replacing my 30-year-old road bike. Talk about techno-shock. Ain't nothing the way it used to be.

Pie? Is that a British tradition?
Over here it's cake.
And I'm not sure how to send it through.
Maybe like Spam?

 My 35 year old 10 speed is in the process of being resto modded. It's irreplaceable, no other bike will ever have the memories. So far it's gotten a brooks saddle and I've bought some bar cons. A new rim for the front wheel is next.:)

Rut roh... Methinks Rod hasn't yet gone through the 50+ Orientation class.

By the way, any of your bikes white?

I had heard there were some tests you have to take when you get old. I didn't know there was one here. I thought all you had to do to grow old was not die young.
I guess I'll ride through and go back with the young group.

We ride for pie.

Welcome to our forum! You will soon know who the real characters are and who you can trust. By the way, don't forget to take a pull at the front of our peleton from time to time -- but be warned, the pace can be brutal! :D:D

Guess you took offense to my little joke about orientation. Sorry, none intended. It was a reference to the fact that we talk a lot about pie.

If you choose to come back, you'll soon find we are a light-hearted bunch. Hope you find that's your cup of tea as well. (or is it coffee?) :)

Your first post here is a test of your mettle. If you can put up with friendly banter, wry humor and the occasional grouch you'll fit in just fine.

Next, be sure to get your official 50+ jersey:

Then, go for a ride, have pie, take pictures. Voila!

Yes, you're right. I should have said "most expensive" after:

- cars
- golf
- horses
- skiing
- motorcycles
- scuba
- watch collecting
- photography

In all honesty, bicycling as an addiction isn't the worst.
