i just finished the ride for the roses 40 mile route on my fixed gear (plus 20 miles to get from my hotel to the starting point and back)... saw one singlespeed 43:18 but no other fixed gears. anyone know of anyone who rode fixed? and what route they did? the SS guy did the 70 mile route i think, and he was cruising.

also, everything you've heard about austin headwinds is true... it was tough. very fun tho :D

wow...that's pretty good. the weather conditions just stunk yesterday. i was setup to 70, but whimped out and did the 40.

and btw...nothing against Trek and Trek riders, but was that ride a Trek fest or what? it seemed every other bike was a Trek. I guess they make great bikes for the masses. :)

Glad you had a good ride, and congrats on a 60-mile day on your fixie.

Does this make a fixed-gear Seattle to Portland seem possible next year?

Is the Ride for Roses a Trek sponsored thing? Lance fanatics seem to be all over it.

Yes its sponsored but I'm not sure if Trek sponsors it.
It is however a Lance Armstrong Foundation event so lance Fanatics are as you say all over it.
