i am thinking of buying a pair with low miles (under 1k) for about $400 after shipping. my current wheelset (ultegra with open pros) is pretty trashed from a recent car accident, and i've been thinking about upgrading to go with my new cyfac.
i have also considered last years grecal parades for $250. they're a bit heavy, though, and it seems like if i'm gonna shell out a few bills i might as well do it right ...
opinions? how does, for instance, lateral stiffness compare?

If you're looking at the 2001 Ksyrium SL's used for $400, you might consider picking up a new 2002 set at http://www.totalcycling.com/ they're on for 632.00 which isn't that much more, plus you get the security of buying new.
Just a thought.. Best of luck

I would not buy used wheels for $400 bucks.
For that kind of money you can have Colorado Cyclist build you a wheelset with Chris King hubs and Mavic CPX 33's.
I did, and could not be happier.

Your nuts!
Ksyrium SSC are excellent wheels, I acutaly own the 2001 Ksyrium SSC wheels but, you can find closeouts on last years models quite often on e-bay for $500 or sometimes less and they are not used.. I think $400 is a bit high to pay for 2001 SSC's, that is the wheels i own and have had no problems.
