Daniel Craig sucked balls in Casino Royale.

Choose, but don't mark all of them.

Moore was definitely the best Bond. Brosnan a close second. Connery was all right, but not that good. Better than the rest, though. Connery is one of the most boring and narrow-ranged actors out there. He essentially plays himself in every production he's in. I only liked him in The Russia House and The Name of the Rose. Although, to be honest, I haven't seen every production he's been in.

3. Craig (good first effort, hope he keeps it up)
4. Dalton
Do I have to put Roger Moore in fifth even. I thought he made a dreadful Bond. Boring.

Vin Diesel is my favorite bond. Matt Damon is #2.

I didn't see them in the poll though.

Connery. No one compares.
The only one worse than Brosnan was Dalton.

Sean Connery was probably the best, IMO.
However, I really liked Roger Moore as he was the Bond I first saw.

Connery.

Brosnan was good, too. GoldenEye is my favourite Bond film. Tomorrow Never Dies was good, too. but then came The World Is Not Enough (spoiled by Denise Richards) and Die Another Day (James Bond vs. Johnny Tran? ugh).

and i think Craig's got potential to be the best yet. or at least a close second.

Sean Connery: Got his butt whooped just like the Bond in the books, movies were true to the originals.
Roger Moore: Started the invincible Bond trend (7 guys with machine guns, 7 bullets in a Walther PPK....and he wins the gun battle...as if), was more about special effects than true acting.
George Lazenby: Did well in his one-hit-wonder, wore a kilt like a real man, believable.
Timothy Dalton: Not his fault the Invincible Bond preceded him, was believable anyway.
Pierce Brosnan: Moore clone, though with a good sense of humor.
Daniel Craig: Return to roots in spirit, though the movies have been ruined before him, so he has a long road to tread.

The one Bond movie I wish would be redone is The Spy Who Loved Me. Nothing like the book at all, entirely different plot as if the book never existed. The book however was one of if not the best Bond novels, JB sans Q's gadgets or the backing of nuclear submarines, fighting American gangsters with the equivalent of a WalMart sporting goods department. Gritty, emotional, Bond showing a stupid woman-afflicted side...and with a good dose of exposing Bond as an adrenaline freak. Yeah, I'd go with Daniel Craig for that one.

I voted George Lazenby, but it was a pity vote. I don't really think he's the best, but I love On Her Majesty's Secret Service and I feel bad for him as the forgotten Bond

You know Wordbiker....you pointed out in your post what always bored me about Moore as Bond... the dam guy never lost a fight (with a weapon or otherwise). And his delivery just didn't do it for me. Brosnan had a good witty delivery. Dalton was decent, and I agree that Craig (although I was skeptical at first...has potential...but we will have to wait and see how the next couple bond films turn out).

Craig did a most excellent job portraying a developing, yet to be super suave Bond. Casino Royale is the first book in the series. Although I still doubt it Bond's bits and pieces were in working order for the rest of the novels.

I voted Roger Moore.

I voted for Connery but could've gone with Lazenby for On Her Majesty's Secret Service. That's one of my favorite Bond movie's. Was not a big fan of Moore or Brosnan. Dalton was ok as it was intersting to see a Bond that actually showed some emotion unlike Moore who was a stiff IMO.

Connery, followed by Craig. Dalton had the dark aspect. Moore was just a clown.

definitely Connery is the king...however Brosnan and Moore played the very egotistical Bond, where Craig plays the developing Bond...I will not waste time on Dalton...he was...not...

I really like Sean and consider him the standard to beat, but I actually think Pierce is the best. I've seen all the Bond films multiple times and have seen all of them except one on opening day since Moore was 007. Tomorrow Never Dies is my favorite. It has the best narrow escape at the beginning, best villain (in terms of personality and plot to take over the world), and no one even comes close to Michelle Yeoh as a Bond girl. In addition, the secondary characters at MI5 and in the criminal world are far better than in any of the Connery films where they act like sherry swilling morons or automatons respectively. M was fantastic. I thought they did a brilliant job of bringing the Bond formula up to date without making it excessively PC. Having said that, I think a reasonable case can be made for Goldfinger being the best Bond film.

I'm also a huge Connery fan (but the unofficial Never Say Never Again is absolutely terrible), and Dalton is by far the worst. Craig was decent in the last film and I'll watch the next one, but I didn't like some of the departures they took from the formula. Worst title sequence of the series.

I don't understand what you see in the stiff, dry and emotionless Connery. Moore was witty, funny, tongue-in-cheek and ALIVE, unlike Connery.

I think this is a bit like Casablanca. A decent, but far from excellent, movie, that for some reason ages ago was elevated to the status of one of the best movies ever made. And lots of people are afraid of saying what they really think, because we all "know" what the only correct answer is.

Connery vs. Moore: I'd take Connery in a pair of red swim trunks in Thunderball over Moore in a tuxedo in any of his movies on any day of the week.

I don't get the Casablanca thing either. Or the Wizard of Oz.

I used to think Moore, but now its Connery. He's got such an awesome voice, plus, he's starred in an Alfred Hitchcock film which always scores 2 billion points with me.

Plus he married Diana Rigg! How can fault that!

And Telly Savalas.

Oh! You meant The Wizard of Oz. Carry on, then.

Sean Connery number one James Bond for all time! He gave all us hairy balding guys hope that we could be suave lady killers and outwit the bad guys while hopped up on martinis.

Peter Sellers (Casino Royale, 1967--You missed one youngin')

Ah yes, but that first Casino Royale wasn't a Robert Broccoli production, hence not a real Bond movie. Sorry....
