It was coined by students at San Rafael High School who met at the campus statue of Louis Pasteur at 4:20 to get high back in 1971. "4:20 Pasteur" was the original terminology.

What does 4:20 have to do with smoking pot?

it is a date not a time, April 20. I believe it is related to the planting season of the plant.

It originated with the time 4:20 IIRC.

Nah, I still need to get bowl/slide for it. Those come on Thursday after I get paid, along with an ounce or so of kush.

For now I'll just use the bubbler, I have a new love for doing 'Time Bombs.'

I was actually considering machining one of those out of Stainless steel.

You can buy them out of stainless.

My friend has a Ti one actually, along with a Ti pipe.

These have the machined look to them :).

And nice little touches like a Tio2 slider and mouthpeice.

:)

UVM (University of Vermont) used to have a legendary "4/20" celebration on April 20th. The cops sort of looked the other way. Lately though, they've been trying to shed the image, and have been trying to curtail the smoking. Turning it into an outdoor fun time with games and other dumb stuff. Foam padding the world...
