Holy crap this is awesome. (http://www.cnn.com/2008/TECH/science/03/18/dinosaur.mummy.ap/index.html?iref=mpstoryview)

I will be first in line to check it out when it makes it's way to a museum. Who wouldn't go see a dinosaur mummy??? It has the potential to be 3 different blockbuster movies all in one if it wakes up.

Dinosaurs are not real. Nor is space travel, diet cola, or caffeine free pantyhose.

I'm pretty sure the caffeine free pantyhose is real, at least that's what my salesperson told me.

I lied.

Another coincidence, as I am looking at a dinosaur appreciation thread in another forum.:)

My personal theory is that the bipeds got around more like kangaroos, and less like humans or chickens.(the way T-Rex walks in movies) .

I have a video of a kangaroo I plan on rotoscoping , and presenting my theory to the scientific community for scrutiny.

hmm...wouldn't a multi tonned behemoth have a bit of a problem hopping around, especially in the mud?
BTW....what is rotoscoping?

Are too. I saw them on TV.

Everything about imagining dinosaur ecology presents a problem. That's why it's so much fun.:D

Rotoscoping is when you overlay an animated image over a live motion picture for realisic effect. See Thundarr The Barbarian for a terrible example.

"Workers are slowly unearthing the dinosaur from its 65-million-year-old tomb"

Oh pish-posh, my gosh, EVERYONE knows that dinoaurs aren't that old. According to the Creation Museum, "Most dinosaurs were reasonably small—the size of a sheep or a pony, on average. Even large sauropods, as young adults, were not overly large. So Noah’s Ark had plenty of room for all the land animals kinds, including every dinosaur 'kind.'"

WOW what BS! I cant believe that exists. What's even more alarming is what a hit it's been among middle American submorons. I think this all ties in with the "What's your opinion on public schools?" -thread.

Oh it exists and here are some photos. Not mine. Some of the captions are funny. If you're into that kind of thing.

I got into a heated discussion with a co-worker once regarding evolution.

He argued that he was a cosmic mistake, a freak of nature and a monkey's uncle. I found it hard to disagree...

I won't post it here (probably breaks a couple rules), but there is a nice archive of forum posts (from various sites) regarding way far right Christians and their takes on science/sexuality/government. I love that some people are still arguing that the world is flat. Some really interesting use of logic.

The world is flat, at least here in Texas it is.

Maybe so, but it's not spherical either...in the strict geometrical sense. It's kinda lumpy in these parts.

True... but how can you logically claim that the world is flat? (not in the strict geometrical sense).

What we need to find are some DoDo bird eggs with viable DNA still in them.
That would be cool.....then domesitcated Turkeys would no longer rank as the dumbest birds on the planet.
Do dodo bird eggs fossilize?

Only if Elvis and a black JFK battle it in a funeral home.

When I was a teenager, my buddies and I used to sing it after tying one on, and nail that blood curdling scream:
High on a rapids

Hey, Ive been offended due to my beliefs many times here on foo and on other areas of the bike forum without concern from the person posting or other members, so I guess youll have to take that one on the chin.
