Road Cycling - you paid how much??

I thought these frames were around $1000-$1500 new. I think this guy could have purchased a C40 for this. Can anyone shed insight as to why this frame fetched such a price?

Unless Simoni rode that frame in the Giro, someone paid a bit too much. I know retail ain't cheap, but I was going to get an Optimo frame for around $1500 last year.

I guess that this proves that there is a sucker born every minute! How much would this whole bike gone for fully equipped with Chorus or Record. My guess is not to far from what whoever paid for the frame alone. :eek:

Something's fishy... look at the bid history, it jumped nearly $1K in a single bid...

It's the bottom bracket with the Hollogram cranks that come with it. I believe the frame will only take these cranks.
The cranks and bottom bracket set up is 110 grams lighter than Dura Ace.

But still............... I think the retail on the whole bike built with Campy Record is around $4400.00 US

The guy probably thinks that this is something more than what it is, an easily obtainable frame.

With cranks, etc. it's still no over $2000 full retail for the frameset.

Wonder if that person wants some swampland?

I personally think that whoever bid that high thought that it was actually owned by the Saeco team. Many stock frames are used by teams though... This is nothing special.

The way Ebay works, two bidders must have thought that it was an actual team frame. The second highest bidder bid $2900 but we don't know how high the winning bidder was willing to go. He just got it for the minimum bid amount over the next highest bidder.

Retail on that is a little below $2000.00 What a moron.
