My workout plan says do a descending ladder. 300, 275, 250, etc. Are you supposed to rest between sets, or is this just a convenient way to keep up with counting? I'm unfamiliar with ladders, could someone please elighten me? Thanks!

try ding them with a constant rest period between each set-- for example, do the 350, rest 30 seconds, do the 275, rest 30 seconds and so on. As the swim gets shorter, the relative rest gets 'longer' so in theory you recuperate quicker. If you are doing repeating sets between 25-200 meters, I would shorten the rest period to 15 or 20 seconds-

train safe--
