prolink. goes on clean. stays clean. keeps chain quiet and well-lubed.

Another vote for Pro Link. This is the first lube I have found that you can get the chain reasonably clean by just wiping it down. Wax based lubes build up, trap dirt, and generally are a real mess to clean. Try Pro Link.

And a third vote for Pro-Link.....great stuff!

I started out using the Finish Line Lube and switched over to wax using White Lightning. In warm, dry weather I don't think it can be beaten but as it's gotten colder and wetter up here, the wax was becoming impractical. I've switched back to the Finish Line lube because of the messy weather and the ease of use. I don't think there's one answer when you've got changing climates. I'm definitely going to try out the Pro Link to see what all the fuss is about, it's gotten some excellent reviews.

Many different sources I've read suggested wax lubes for dry conditions, and Teflon "Wet"lubes for wet conditions. That what I've been doing. I use Pedro's Ice Wax for the 9 months it's dry here, and Finish Line wet lube if it might rain.

I've been using Rock n Roll lube (wax base) lately and
have been impressed with it. Its a bit messy applying but
once it on it lasts, doesn't pick up too much dust/dirt/goop etc. We'll have to see how it does in colder temps tho.

Yet another vote for Pro-Link. If not that (I don't know if it's available in Oz) then some other light petroleum-based lube.

I don't like changing lubes to match conditions. Waxes gum up in cold temps. Dry lubes don't stand up to wet.

Pro-Link doesn't get gummy, persists well (I lube every fourth ride), and works as a cleaning agent.

I use tri-flow. it lubes really well, but it picks up a ton of dirt. after one ride, my chain is black. I think I'm gonna use up the can and try this prolink stuff.

Intriguing stuff, this ‘Prolink’... Does anyone know whether it is available in Europe (Netherlands)? So far, I haven’t seen it in any of the LBSs.

So far, I have been using Finish Line’s Cross Country (wet) lube. It works well and stays on for a long time (even in poor weather). The only downside is that it--like Phatman’s Triflow--makes for a greasy chain.

according to the pro link we site (http://www.progoldmfr.com/):

"ProLink is a thin-bodied lubricant that uses MFR technology, a molecule which bonds to the metal surface. It does not build up or become tacky because it contains no solids like Teflon, wax, moly, graphite or plastic."

i use finish line cross country on my cyclo-cross bike. no complaints, but keep in mind that i do a complete clean afdter each race.

As a guy who rides both road, and mountain bikes in Arizona I have lived with dirty and dusty conditions all my life. The wax based products have all been a disappointment. Finnish Line, and Tri Flow have been the best I have used. Bottom line is keep the chain clean, and lubed... There is no miracle lube.

Wax,doesnt attract dirt which means chain and cassette will last longer. Its nice to work on your bike without oil all over you.My chain and cassette are alway clean.

I don't find that Pro Link attracts dirt. When I used to use White Lightening I found that my chain and gear would get filthy with a build up of residue which was really bad on the jockey wheels. With Pro Link there is no build up of anything. You can get your chain pretty clean just by wiping it down.

I have found the opposite to the case. The wax based lubes become a clumpy gritty mess after just a few rides.
