Hey guys,
I am about to get some new pads for my Hayes 9's because my brakes have been squeaky and a bit weak. Looking up some old threads, I took the suggestion to put the pads on the stove to burn off impurities. Almost immediately, the pads started emitting a boiling fluid that burned off. Is this the pad binder, or some impurities that seeped in over time? I don't plan on using them again... just wondering.
Also, any other suggestions on killing this squeaking besides new pads?
Thanks.
