Yes, but a top model should be able to capture expression no matter the occasion!:D

I was working with an agent before moving out west. He said 20lbs lighter and a bit more muscle tone and I'd be there. That was before I started cycling. Now, I got a full life of training for criterium and tour de cure, volunteering at local bike co-op, and building websites. It'd be nice to get back into it, but I've got priorities.

This is when I was spending an hour in the gym every day, at 235lbs

Modeling is like acting, nobody takes you seriously until you have an agent, and an agent is going to want to see your portfolio. If you don't have a portfolio, then often the best way to get one, is to find a photographer trying to create their portfolio and do some bartering, there is a term for it, that slips my mind at the moment, but check with local collages and see if any have a photography program, because students are desperately trying to build on their work. Professional female models in larger sizes are in demand now, because curves are coming back into style.

The biggest issue for male models, is that like actors, it's a career that many people think has a larger (some would say lot larger) then normal percentage of homosexuals. While it's true for actors, I don't know about modeling, I think it's because men generally don't like looking at pictures of other men, so when they see photos of a good looking man, they need to "geld" him by reasoning that he is probably gay. Something to keep in mind if you want to turn "pro".

My girlfriend (now fiancee) was a photography student at Hallmark and I did do some modeling for her (NB: she is now a professional photography but I am not a professional model):

My housemate back in college was too poor to afford models for his photography projects for class, so me and his girlfriend were always his volunteers. He did mostly action photos, so it was just an excuse for us to go out and skate or ride our bikes or go snowboarding.

I did some beer commercials way back when. I was a little famous for a while, at least locally. The kind of guy they where looking for, for the commercials was not too flatering, basically a outdoor "neaderthal type". I guess I fit the bill.

Half of me was in a newspaper photo one time. My cutey 3-year-old daughter took up the rest of the picture.
