I am a 66 year old 230 lb. , six time marathoner with bone on bone arthritis in my knees. I rode my Giant hybrid last summer quite a bit and enjoyed it very much. We did one 100 miler through Canada (with an overnight! ) and I regularly rode 20 and 30 milers along the Niagara River and Erie Canal.
I am trying to hold off knee replacement surgery and still be able to ride this season. Any ideas for a new bike that would be easier on my knees would be appreciated. Another but better hybrid, fitness hybrid , road bike or perhaps a recumbent. These are all bikes I am considering. Thank You for the vine. Good biking to everyone !

Welcome Dave! I don't have any suggestions for bikes, but to ease up on your knees, just keep it in lower gears and spin more, mash less.

Hi Dave, you might want to check out the Clydesdales/Athenas, or the 50+ forum to get some ideas. Those folks have a good grasp on some of the problems associated with bad knees, and will be able to give you both good recommendations for bikes and getting around the knee.

Welcome to BF!
