I wish I could go again. I had a blast last year. Good town for a race and great format.

Even the cops were cool. At the start we were all packed together and a chunk of us too off down a one way street past a cop directing traffic. All he said was: "Hey! This is a one way street. Be careful!"

My friend Jes didn't have such a good time, but thats b/c she had a disagreement with the front bumper of an SUV and spent half the night in a hospital.
She was back to normal in no time. Although on the ride home, a woman in a gas station asked her if she was OK while looking at my friend Todd and I. I guess it did look bad, and I'm sure not uncommon in South Georgia. I actually think that woman was pretty brave to do that.

I think your friend looks pretty cute with all those bandaides . . . I'm not sure if I'd feel the same way the next day when the swelling picks up.

haha, thanks--

I'm super sad that I can't go this year (mandatory ecology class thing), but anyone who can go should. It was one of the best races I've been in. Well, minus the intersection at 4th and 4th. :) Todd throws a great race and this year won't be an exception to the case. Just watch out for SUVs and the wind on the piers! It's a killer!

a lot of towns have numbered avenues one way and numbered streets in another. probably what's going on here.

Yup. That's what makes riding around St. Pete so easy for an out-of-towner. Everything is numbered in a fairly sane fashion.

delicious

it was fun last year. the st. pete guys are great.

correct. it's one of the easiest places to get around but for some reason people get confused because they can't grasp how simple it is.

well, when i moved from portland to columbus it took some getting used to, but i caught on pretty quickly, i just had to ask people at first whether they meant street or avenue and just be sure i was going to end up in the right spot.

it's fun to refer to intersections as "4th and 14th" and stuff though, because it sounds so ridiculous yet it works.
