Sooo.. I was on the ebikes.ca website today and read over this little gem:

Most of the "Sold Out" signs on our store site will dissapear once the next boatload of goods from Crystalyte comes in. There are going to be some new additions with this order as well, including 72V pedal first controllers, spare axles to convert between front and rear hubs, and more of the famous 4110 mosfet 50A motor controllers. Although the ship is scheduled to arrive any day, due to logistical reasons we won't be able to pick it up until March 25th.

That part there, is what makes me happy. Think i'll try reviving my dust-collecting 408 into an Xtracycle tow-machine.

Are you switching from front to back?

What were the issues you had with the 408? I thought they were good motors.

Last week I sent an email to ebikes.ca inquiring about the replacement axles. Zev replied saying that they have done a few using a 20ton press. They have a few front wheel axles. I needed a rear axle. I was trying to make my 406 into a rear motor. I had a 408 rear so I took the motors apart and into work. The axles were pressed out of the stators without problems. I now have a 406 rear wheel motor.
