Couldn't find a thread specific to this. There seems to be 2-3 rides that weekend (Sulpher Spring and a ride down in Italy) so I was wondering if anyone was headed out to aledo?
I see halfast and LSHD from another thread mentioned it.
Are the hills really bad? I know it is Texas and all that but I'm trying to decide between taking my merlin road bike and my highracer recumbent (giro 26). I have only ridden the giro 26 a few hundred miles and extended hills are still a beating but it is much nicer into the wind.

There are a couple that are pretty long and steep, but it's the frequency of them that gets ya! No better time to bring the bent than the present - let go the apron strings my friend! If ya gotta sag, ya gotta sag!
..seriously though - gear down and spin. I rode the bent on the 75 miler last year and actually had to physically push one guy on a df up the hills the last 15 miles.
If the weather is decent, I'm there too. The hills aren't that bad.....just lots of them. Overall its a great ride, and the folks really appreciate the riders coming out to support the local FD and PD. Lunch at the finish is always good too....

The Tour D'Italia in Italy is almost flat.
I am looking forward to this ride after 3 days and 160 miles of "The Hills Go On and On" motto of the Easter Hill Country Tour in Fredericksburg and Kerrville this last weekend. What a great weekend it was!
See you guys this Sat., I really want to do the century and am glad you can make the decision at the end of the 75 miler! Not sure I will be fully recovered.
Quick post-ride report. I had a great time! The ride was well supported and equipped. The weather was nice and cool. Something we're all going to be longing for soon enough. Seemed to be a good turn out, though this was my first time at this ride. I was also very impressed with all the local support, everyone from the people manning the check-in tables to those volunteering to hold bikes at the rest stops, not to mention all the non-stop cheering they all did, was great!
There were plenty of hills to keep it interesting. And the burgers at the end were a welcome refreshment.
Thanks to all who made my Saturday ride a good memory.
I definitely plan on adding this ride to my yearly schedule.
This was a great event. I really enjoyed the ride. They routes where well marked. They had good SAG support and awsome rest stop support. The hills were a nice challenge. There were many residents out cheering us on, which was a nice touch. With the exception of a flat tire at mile 43, it was a great ride for me. I will definately do it again.
