up towards me, so i can read them. that's the way i've always done it.

when you leave your bike sitting on the floor in your living room, which way do you orient your pedals? do you make sure that they are vertical, so you can stare at your chainline better? or do you make sure they are horizontal, so you can stare at your downtube?
plz help

i just tossed mine on with the label pointing down, but when they kept slipping i rode up to the bike shop to use some compressed air and light oil to help seal em, and my buddy who gave me a helping hand got all anal and lined em up so that the "oury" faces outward. no big deal.
hairspray prior to mounting fixes that, fyi.

funny you mention that. cranks horizontal with the right side crank forward.
keeps the left side crank out of my way when i carry my bike down the stairs every morning.

yeah, i do pay attention to my cranks when my bike is in my sunroom... horizontal, left back. the walls are wavey and uneven in there, so the pedal touches the wall in a bubble and keeps the bike up straight.
it keeps my brooks from getting scuffed by the white paint in my house.

I just make sure that the "OURY"s on my grips are facing out, as opposed to against the bars itself.

WORST IDEA EVER FOR OURYS
go ride in the rain, and you'll see why.
use any spray adhesive, like 3M, they slip on like butter, and in ten minutes NEVER SLIP.
to remove just squirt some WD-40 down in between the bar and grip (with the red straw) and with 30 seconds of twisting, the glue breaks free and they slip off.
oury's rule because they are so thick, they work like shock absorber pads, as on roady bars, they are also comfortable with or without gloves.
I won't ride with any other grip now, I even put them on both my motorcycles.
you guys just don't know.
( I'm weird, I put the oury logo so it faces front)

i always figured you wanted the logos oriented like if you had it tattooed on your knuckles, "LOVE" and "HATE" style

that was my problem. air gets trapped in there and it won't seal right. that's why i used an air gun to essentially blow out the air and seat the grip. sounds counterintuitive, but it's what the bike shop guy suggested, and it worked instantly. no more slip.

as much as i hate hipsters, fakengers, dude's in chick's jeans, cycling in jeans, bandanas, bandana top tube protectors, cheap plastic shades, sh!tty moustaches, and fashion cycling in general... i actually like ourys. i like them even better on my mountain bike though.

and it is by far the coolest most hipster thing to do is to let them get all twisted up and covered in grease then fix them on.

ok just cut a tiny X in the flat end with a razor blade to let air escape.
and again USE SPRAY ADHESIVE,...
then they never slip
(read my other post for how to get them off)
if oury's scream hipster, then so do those damn MERCIER KILO's EVERYONE AND THEIR MOM HAS NOW

^ you forgot to mention the shaggy beards on every hipsters mom.
I am actually quite surprised how many people are hating on this question.... considering how many "jackass" bikes get picked on for details this small.

Cheap and comfortable grips = hipster? Maybe on a road bike that's supposed to have cork, not so much on other types of bikes...

yeah i went there once with my mom when i first came out here for school.
and then i went once with my ex-grilfriend. neither experience was that much fun, and strasburg is an annoying town that i have to go through on the way between school and home--it's a speed bump with a 25mph limit in the middle of a 50mph zone that i usually go closer to 90 in.

i think its not the fact that a lot of people use it but the reasons why people like to cry wolf (or hipster) on certain components. kilo TT? its a great frame for its price and often some would argue better than other frames that cost more. still IS a nice bike but thats my opinion.
oury? IMHO havent tried them, ive always stuck with animal grips, but leave oury in the sun and they become sticky thus causing discomfort. most of my friends here have since switched from ourys to other grips, either back to bar tape or bmx grips.
people like em, people hate em. meh!
