Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I guess I should start by apologizing for not taking any before pics. So I'll just say that when I got a hold of it it looked like a bike that had once been loved but had then spent the next twenty years inside a chicken coop. ;) It had superficial surface rust, the paint and decals were shot and it smelled funny. I stripped it and spent a few hours sanding it down and then I dropped off at a friend's house. He in turn took it to his work and primed and sprayed it for me.
Oops! Here's the picture...I hope!
Here's the headset. bearings, bottom bracket and fork after being prepped for being reinstalled. These parts took a little effort to clean since the grease originally put in there had long since turned to tar. I'm glad I quit smoking.
Here's a picture with the BB, fork, seat and stem all put back in. First thing tomorrow I'm getting the credit card out! :D Additionally, the funny smell is now gone.

That paint looks good. It is going to be a fine ride.

did it have a chrome tipped fork originally? i love chrome tipped forks!
The seat stays, chain stays and fork all had chrome. Unfortunately all the chrome had gone to crap so I opted to paint over it.
AW CRAP! I was supposed to get the stuff that I ordered to complete the build today. I called and they said they were behind due to the fires. Now I have to wait until friday. I was hoping to get the rig together to get at least one good ride in before the cold sets in.
Brace yourself, its coming your way (the cold weather) Was 75 here yesterday, wearing t-shirt and short while raking leaves. Today, 44 dgrees and damp wind.
