Is there such a (sub)forum already?

If not, would it be possible to create a (sub)forum for mapping/gps?

I think it would be cool to see all the mapping/routing software/gps discussions in one place.

Thoughts?

I think it might fall under this (http://www.bikeforums.net/forumdisplay.php?f=259) forum...?

Sort of - but a Mapping forum would include discussions of mapping software as well (TopoUSA, websites, etc). I guess GPS discussions do belong in the Gadget forum, but I'm talking more about software for route planning/reviewing.

For example, in the Road forum there are posts about "how accurate is mapmyride's elevation?" or "how does motionbased gain compare to site X's elevation gain?" or "how to create a cue sheet for a 200 mile ride in < 3 minutes."

I'd just like to see a good place for those posts to live, besides the Road fourm. Maybe a better title for the forum would be "Mapping Software & Discussions" or something along those lines.

No biggie, but I think it'd be cool to have a dedicated (sub)forum for this.

I can see your point...perhaps someone way further up the food chain can answer this, then.

Foo would be where most of the mappers/ETC hang out, or electronics and Gadgets.

Exactly! They're spread out between Foo & Gadgets because they've got nowhere to go!

Even a sub-forum in Foo would be great..

so is that an official "no" to my new forum suggestion?
