After i came back from a gruelling ride today i put down my helmet and walked in, i came back an hour later to see my almost new helmet on the floor chewed up, the marks looked alot like dog marks, and seeing as my dog has one of the most annoying habits of chewing up everything he see's he did it. It WAS a Specialized Chamonix that was about 20 days old :(
Is there any way i can claim my money back? Or wont the excuse " my dog chewed it up" wrk this time around?
He had my gloves aswell but they arent damaged.

If it was up to me, I'd contact Specialized and see what they say. They might give you a break on a replacement. They might not. The worst they can say is "no." If I was a Customer Service rep for Specialized, I'd be inclined to give you something just for providing me with a chuckle.
"My dog ate it!"

Let's see.......your dog chewed up your new helmet and you think that the helmet manufacturer is at fault? I haven't read the warranty, but I'd bet that they don't cover helmets chewed up by pets. Why would you expect the manufacturer or the online store you purchased it from take the monetary hit for something that's essentially your fault? Take responsibility for your own actions....suck it up and buy another helmet yourself.

Sad story.
Don't try to make someone else take a monetary hit for your mistake, though. Buy yourself a new helmet and be more careful about where you leave it.
What ever you do don't blame the dog. Sometimes I feel like chewing on the helmet myself. :D

My dog did the same thing to my helmet. She also chewed up the velcro on my cleats, the thumb off of my glove, and a strap off of my camelback. She's so cute, though, it's hard to stay mad at her. I've just learned to keep anything I don't want her to chew up out of her reach. Or, I spray a little squirt of bitter apple spray on or near anything important, and she stays away. It works well, and after a few minutes humans can't smell it. Would love to see some pics! Here's my hellion sweetie, Shanti...

harsh words man... chill out... he's just seeing if he can get another helmet without having to buy a new expensive one again, if you were in his place what would you do? I'd put my freaking pride away, and talk to the company and maybe for some odd reason they'd say, sure send in your old helmet, we'll give you a new one....
just my 2 cents... i feel bad for cornish... i know what its like to be low on cash... ~ mikeym

Yeh i know ;) I just love that bike for sum reason lol... thx alot for your input Mikeym, ur right about cornish being poor, :( Its not that i dont mind buying a new one, its that ive only had it for 2 weeks, and i had it taken away by a dog :( Surely if i can get another for free, its just as good as parting with my hard earned cash and buying a new one....
Btw... Bugger the pride, whens it ever done anything useful for me? :D
