hey, i'm a little new to cycling, bought my first real bike and I'm enjoying the hell out of it, any other long islanders here? any suggestions on nice places to ride or to make my bike lighter and faster would be appreciated.
Hey I am on Long Island too. What area do you live in?
Most common spots to ride by me are from cedar creek park in seaford to jones beach (4.5miles each way) and also the bethpage bike trail. Starts on merrick road in seaford and goes to bethpage state park (roughly 10 miles each way).

i live in island park, are you talking about the path on the side of the wantagh parkway?
