Anyone ever wipe out so badly that you have to be taken to hospital? Did they give you morphine before scrubbing out the pebbles and grit from your road-rash? AHHHHhhhhh.... that's good stuff! :)
Not exactly a wipe out, but yes, I've had morphine after a bike accident. Good stuff indeed. They gave me a little button to push every fifteen minutes to inject more if I needed it. I would wake up every fifteen minutes during the night to push that button. Was sad when they took it away from me.

Nope,
Never banged up that bad.
But did get food poisoning or something that causes abdominal pain bad enough to call for morphine. Wonderful stuff. But hard for me to be objective, having the pain stop was pretty wonderful.

Long story short: Ouch.

I got to have morphine for suspected kidneystones. It did indeed make the pain bearable. Not that the pain went away, but it made it easy to ignore...

Trimmed some fingers with a table saw, 10 mils of morphine made the helicopter ride surreal.

I'm on some vicodin right now. Gets metabolized into morphine, so its almost the same thing.

The only bad thing about Morphine is they eventually take it away :p

You could always take it upon yourself

Yes, I've wrecked bad enough to get taken to the hospital. I fell 20' at 15mph, landed on my head and hand. I crushed my wrist. I was given nothing for the pain until they put me under for surgery. I crashed at around 9am, and went into surgery around 12:30pm. I was delirious from the pain the entire time.
I never had road rash, though, thankfully.

I fell off a cliff on Lake Mojave and fell about 150 feet, bouncing several times. Remarkably nothing was broken and I never hit my my head. I barely remember going into the stainless steel room where they did the scrubbing. Both hands were so torn up that I couldn't wipe my own ass for about a week. It showed me how good of a friend I had when he asked me if I needed some help.

On wed I had my left knee ripped wide open. Don't know exactly what they gave me in the ER but it worked like a charm. Now I have vicodin but it really does not hurt that much for some reason. I took one last night to sleep.

Buddy, did you wipe out? Do tell. And if you did, I hope you're feeling better.

I had some post surgery morphine doses while at the hospital about a decade or so ago. Really weird stuff as it slurred my speech, made my body and limbs feel really heavy (to the point where I couldn't move) and basically knocked me out 5 seconds later. Upon waking I was just overwhelmingly groggy and confused.

Like the album.. Too bad the group isnt around anymore :(
Danno, they gave me codeine for a pain level of 6/10 on the pain chart. I still got it around someplace.

Morphine was an interesting band. I hear them being played in the weirdest places.
Wow, opiate threads tonight. Aarrg, thanks everyone for reminding me how much I used to love opiates when I was in exactly this state of mind.

Good to know I wasn't the only one who made that mistake.

True.. Buena made it to a Nissan Commercial and they were rather popular in the college scene.

Buddy, did you wipe out? Do tell. And if you did, I hope you're feeling better.Oh no, this was about 15-years ago when I was racing collegiate-B road-race at San Luis Obispo. Coming down a hill at 45mph, someone freaked out in the pack an got tangled up near the front. My teammate in front of me got bumped hard and it spun his handlebars 90-degrees. I saw his wheel and front-fork shatter into pieces as he went over. The crashed collected about 15 people and 5 of us went to hospital. Road-rash needed dressing-changes 2x a day and took about 3-weeks to heal. Luckily no massive scars or anything. Worse crash I've had to this day (aside from motorcycle and car wrecks at the track).
