Mountain Biking - Snow =[

Well it started snowing today. We have recieved about an inch or two already and it isnt done. This can make for some fun riding but I would rather have it be about 50 all winter with sun and no wind.

Stick sum screws through a thck rear tyre, tape up the inside of it and stick it on ur bike, then your all set for a fun, and surprisngly grippy day of riding :D

yeah thats awesome... well for you its not (the snow) but for me, i'd love it... i have a set of those tires with tac's stuck through... what you do is stick the tacks through (the ones with the flat ends) and then line the inside of the tire with electrical tape... or duct tape... ~mikeym

I just came in from a road ride (mtb is in the shop). Weather today is sunny, 85 degrees, and wind out of the east at 10 knots. Forecast is more of the same until Easter :D

Cornwall never ever gets snow :( Just lots and lots and lots of heavy and cold rain, i was out riding in it today :( had about an inch in 30 mins, the trails were flooded but it was a good laugh :)

Well I kinda changed my mind, after riding in my yard today it is fun in the snow as long as its not too cold. And its no fun if you have traction... just use regular tires and let the snow do its job and pad ur fall.

I had all the windows down on my car on the way home.

I had one of my favorite rides of the year today. Skinnies were wet. Couldn't see the trail because of the leaves on the ground. It was great I was trying and nailing stuff I had never done before. I plan to ride through the winter to try my hand at winter skinnies :)

It must suck to have hot/warm weather all year long, sucks to be you.

Wouldn't that be very difficult, wet wood? I've crashed on a wooden bridge by my house twice when it was wet, and believe me, this is not a technial bridge, just a pedestrian bridge. Perhaps a set of studded tires would help, although they might eat up the stunts.

It's a trade off, warm, balmy weather year round? Or more more topography?
Very few places in the U.S. split these uprights.

Id love to try riding in the snow... :D, i spose im very lucky living in Cornwall cos i love riding in the wet... but it makes it harder if its snowing, that more or less puts a stop to your riding.... In Cornwall i can ride all year roiund, Sunny in Summer, and wet for the other 3 seasons lol

Yes very difficult. Super Tacky tires and some serious skill building. But yeah I would stick to the 'easy' skinnies and not do the really technical ones.

We picked up 2" of snow today. :(

Snow?? What the heck is snow?? Today it was a nice sunny 82 with a few clouds in Austin TX. :D:D
