I think everyone with a red star beside their name knows that. And probably many of the others know too.

It took me awhile and a lot of searching on the forum to find out why some people had the little stars.

Call me what you will..... I think it's a good deal. For more than 10 years I've been a member of a gardening forums site where yearly membership was $15.00 until it was bought out by iVillage. I thought that was a good deal too and gladly paid it for what I got in return. That site is free now, and the annoying ads prove it.

I didn't know that the membership fee at BF was for life... I figured it was yearly. So, I just thought I'd share that news with others who also didn't know.

Mine didn't show up for days, so I sent a PM to Brian (the moderator), and he took care of it immediately. I for one don't miss the ads. And I like supporting this great forum.

I'd be happy to pay for the star, but I don't want to lose the ads. I got me a bike vacation thru the ads. Or maybe it was through a random Internet search. I don't remember any more.
