the pic the OP posted includes a shot of the inside of the shifter. therefore not old... noob

That link is about electronic shifting. This thread is about wired shifting w/hidden cables. You can see four wires under the tape in the pic.

That link was to a photo of the internal cable shimano STI levers. Next time pay attention.
