This morning Mom made a huge plate of pancakes before asking if I wanted any. I hate eating pancakes and have not cooked/ordered them in over 25 years. She made a huge deal over it saying "I've never heard of someone that doesn't eat pancakes".
Am I the only one that won't eat pancakes?
I love pancakes. I don't make them myself, but I'll order them in a restaurant if nothing else on the menu sounds good.

At some point in my elementary school days (5th or 6th grade) I developed an aversion to pancakes.
This went on for about the next 5 years or so. My mom would make me try a bite, and I used to chew and not be able to even swallow. I had to sit and look at the pancakes (usually on the weekend) until the pancakes were so cold that nobody would eat them.
Then one day while I was in high school, I was at a friends house (I had a serious crush on her) and she invited me to stay for dinner. Her mom made pancakes... ever since then, I have no problem with pancakes. :)
But, I can definitely understand an aversion to pancakes.
A related point, I have always loved french toast... and mom couldn't understand at the time how I could hate pancakes so much and yet love french toast.

I like them so much I just finished off a stack of pancakes before logging on here.
Blueberry Buckwheat Pancakes. They were delicious. I even have some left over for breakfast tomorrow.
I love 'em, but can fully understand when people don't. Cooked the wrong way they taste like sh*t.

Pancakes heck yes! Waffles even better!
My favorite pancakes are whole wheat with oats and cinnamon. Top it with maple syrup and life is swell.

try cutting down on the eggs - I think it makes them a bit lighter and taste better.
I have 2 boys and every weekend SpongeDad gets up and makes one of the holy trinity of breakfast: pancakes; waffles or french toast. Recently added crepes, but they're a bit harder.
We go through a lot of mapple syrup.

I really don't use a specific recipe, but I use 2 eggs(and less milk+ OJ) when making GM french toast.
pancakes, french toast, waffles... they're all good.
if you don't like what your mother makes, then maybe it's time to find a place of your own. :D

I like pancakes as long as they're actually cooked from scratch, not pancake batter in a box.

Pancakes are good, but then again...I'm not picky.
As I tell my kids, "A fussy eater rarely gets a good meal."

Eh, pancakes, not a fan. There was a time where I wouldn't eat them at all. I might eat 'em sometimes. At Costco they have pancakes in a can(like whip cream cans) it makes pancakes fun.

I second this one. Bisquick pancakes are gross, to mee.
I just made a batch of blueberry pancakes this morning from a recipe I've been using for about 5 years or so now. It uses graham cracker crumbs in addition to flower. Yummy!

My 4 year old son and I make pancakes every weekend. Nice and messy from scratch.
It is one of his favorite father son activities second only to biking.

For French toast, yeah, gotta use eggs. I was talking about pancakes.
OJ in FT sounds good. My wife started putting orange or, even better, lemon zest in the egg/milk dip and that tastes really good.

That I don't really like them? Mainly, I hate that they get soggy with syrup. I don't really like the texture. Above that it tastes like sweetened bread and it is just blah.

Anybody else get Chris Cakes at their biking events. They do not taste the best, not bad but not great, but having them tossed to you from 20 feet away makes it better.

I love the pancakes (http://www.thepancakes.com/).
Blueberry pancakes at Magnolia or Kerbey with migas. Great start to the day.

I still like blueberry pancakes on occasion, but I ate them more often when I was in a kid than now. As I got older, they started playing havoc with my blood sugar.
The trick is to make sure the syrup brought out is actually maple syrup, and not Karo with maple flavoring.
Karo == diabetes in a jar.

We have all kinds of pancake breakfasts around northern Ohio in March, with lots of real maple syrup. they are all you can eat and I can eat alot of pancakes!!! Love them!
Best Damned Flapjacks Ever
1/2 cup flower
1/2 cup buckwheat flower
1/4 cup brown sugar
pinch of salt
pinch of cinnamon
4 eggs, separated
butter milk
Separate four eggs, set aside the yolks. Whip the whites to a soft peak and set aside.
Sift the flours, sugar, cinnamon, and salt into a bowl and make a well in the top of the sifted flower.
Add the egg yolks to the well, and add splashes of buttermilk to make a soft batter.
Fold in the whipped whites.
Pour batter into a buttered griddle, about a 1/2 cup of batter for each flapjack.
Serve with maple syrup or apple butter.

Umm I like blini, but not American Style pancakes.
Not liking pancakes is, no offense, just kind of weird to me.
There are probably hundreds of ways to to make them, so I can't see someone not liking at least one pancake verity.
For me it's eggs, not pancakes. I hate eggs. The thought of eating a straight egg, scrambled, poached, over-easy or any other way they can be prepared, turns my stomach. However, if you scramble those things up with Chorizo I'll eat 'em. I do prefer no yoke, though. The yoke is the part that turns my stomach.
