Ride of a lifetime.....
First things first, if this is the wrong forum please move it, however I'm trying to get maximum exposure.
Ok, so here is the deal:
One of my children (I have 5) is a 5 year old type I diabetic (the kind that need injections lifelong).
Madison was diagnosed at age 4. She lives her life day by day trying to be a happy and healthy 5 year old in kindergarten. Its a constant struggle, but with hard work and dedication to our child she almost forgets about it (sometimes).
This year we were able to purchase an insulin pump (big deal for type I's, she went from 8 + shots in 2 days to 1 shot!).
The ride:
When Madison was diagnosed I made a vow to do whatever I could to help find the cure. I wanted it to be extraordinary. I decided I would ride a bicycle 105 miles in Death Valley for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). To add to the fun, I've never rode a bike until 5 months ago when I started training.
The following is a link to my donation page:
http://ride.jdrf.org/rider.cfm?id=8235
Take a look, donate (if you can, I completely understand either way), and at a minimum please forward it to anyone/everyone that is appropriate.
I need to raise a minimum of $4000 (I had to give a personal credit card to secure it, hence if I fall short in pledges they take the deficit from me).
My entire family thanks everyone for whatever help you can offer.
Sincerely and gratefully,
Madison, Jason, Danielle, Brittany, Victoria, Julianna, Isaac!
