Happy Easter, I hope the Easter Bunny brought lots of bike-goodie sized eggs! :D

Happy Easter!! :)
No easter eggs for me today...I've got tons of stuff to get done, so it's more chore day.

Thanks. Even though I don't celebrate (heathen!) I hope those that do have a nice one. I'm spending the day in bed fighting off a cold.

Hope you feel better as that is no fun way to spend any Sunday. :(

I was wondering if anyone would acknowledge it is Easter. Thanks. I am a pastor, so for me it is all about Christ's resurrection from the dead. I just did two worship services, a breakfast at church, and a Bible class. It ahs been a busy weekend with a worship service on Maundy Thursday and Good Friday, too--all four with separate sermons to prepare. I am looking forward to a nice nap this afternoon followed by some time on my bike. We have temperatures around 50 deg. F., but winds of 24 mph in the form of a headwind on the way home. A blessed Easter to all.

Thank you, sir, and wonderful Easter to you as well. I should go to church today. I was raised Caholic but I haven't been to church in over ten years. My father is so shaking his head right now in dispproval. :o

Happy Easter. Was on a ride with Foothill Cycle Club (flat 40 miler), but no restaurants open. Oh well. Luckily we passed through all churches before everyone got back on the road.

Thank you for the response. I went to a presentation many years ago that dealt with pitfalls in transmitting religious faith across generations. The first generation gets excited about its encounter with God and develops ways to express that faith. The next generation gets the expressions, but is a little weak in understanding and transmitting the basis for those expressions of belief. The third generation loses sight of the reason for the expressions and the expressions become family traditions without explanation. The fourth generation decides there is no reason for these expressions and jettisons them. Later some generation discovers an encounter with God and chooses ways to express its beliefs in daily life. It desires to transmit these expressions to the next generation, but the whole cycle goes into motion again. I am a little biased, but I encourage people understand their faith for themselves and express it with sincerity.
I have been procrastinating enough. The wind has subsided to about 14 mph and the temperature is a bit warmer, yet. I have had a good nap. I need to get out on my bike. There is still quite a bit of daylight left and cars that could be on the road are at a relative's house for family Easter celebrations.

Easter - without the resurrection there would be no celebration of Jesus' life and quite possibly no Christianity. Easter is always the most significant day of my year- so, yeah- it's worth acknowledging..
Our riding temp today was about 80 with no wind- (sorry- had to get the dig in :))

Thanks for your affirming comments. On some previous threads any mention of Jesus other than as an expletive brings all sorts of chastisement for "pushing religion."
I did get my ride. Wind was at about 16 mph. Temperature was almost 60, which is wonderful here. My goal was to keep my heart rate around 70 percent of maximum. The wind actually helped make that easier. I came upon a power walker out on a very rural section of road and called out a gentle "hello" in order not to startle her too badly. She said, "Thank you."
The Easter season lasts for about seven more weeks on the church year calendar. So, we can celebrate for quite a while.
