While out pedaling around Mission Bay yesterday, I spotted this very vintage bike on Fiesta Island. I was able to snap a picture but that's all. I can't tell what brand it is, but it looks to be in pretty good shape. Anyone?

Don't go near it- The brakes don't work and the steering isn't very good either.

AAAAHHHHH!

Don't go near it. We have one in my household (well, not actually "in" my household, but a couple of miles away, in a barn).

I am not allowed to *ever* ride it ("it will ruin his training because you don't know how to ride"). I *am* allowed to feed it, clean its stall, pay its vet bills...

I think it might be a hard tail.

It doesn't have a saddle....that can make for some tough riding.

DG, if you get one, please don't keep it in your apartment.

It might help if you listed the frame material; steel, Al, CF or Ti?

Is that one of those vintage Hop-Along-Cassidy bikes?

It's not the footprints, but the methane emissions that will get you every time!

DG, if you elect to switch, just make sure you get a litter box big enough to handle it. Oh, high walls surrounding the equine litter box will also help.

Pedaling with spurs will get you somewhere fast!

If you think bikes are an expensive hobby. Trust me, you ain't seen $$$ flying until you have a horse. I know first hand of what I speak.

If your following one of these on the trail...................upwind snot rockets will be the least of your problems.

That's the Barnyard Bikes "hayburner expert" you've got there. They come reasonably equipped but that can be reduced if its too high strung for you.

I don't think it's a bike, I think it is a quadracycle.

Actually this is what a Brooks saddle looks like before "processing."

It's not vintage. Its advanced. It's one of those new all-terrain bikes with the automatic cybernetic trail following capability. In fact it can do a single track without the rider if need be.

It's so cool because it doesn't need gasoline. You can run it on straight corn. No need to process the corn into ethanol either. And if you run out of corn you can fuel it with carrots, turnips or even hay.

It's guaranteed to deliver a full horsepower of torque. It can traverse most terrains. It's great for wheelies and does amazing bunny hops. It will never rust and doesn't get flats.

IIRC, the frames on those are some kind of Calcium composite... ;)

Our volunteer bike group often participates in parades in the area and we always specify we want to ride ahead of these "Barnyard Bikes"

It's a Bianchi! I can tell from the green around the hoofs.

Oh, wait a minute, that's fungus. Never mind.

No pedals. Must be an early model footbike ;)

The Bicycle Advocacy of Central Arkansas also rides in parades. Yes, we are also very sure to make sure we are ahead of the carbon-based cruisers. Save the best for last, I say. ;)

If you think the LBS charges too much for labor, try taking one of those in for "repairs"....

I've experienced the best two days of "quadcycle" ownership. The first day....

and....the last! :D

I actually sold our last one for more than I paid for it, an amazing fact among my peers.

You've got it wrong, Gee. That's the bicycle's inventor. She decided that people need to provide their OWN power for purposes of transportation.
