the best thing about the forecasted weather is it will prompt a lunch time trip to the PI Outlet Store for aham23.

Sideways snow is better than vertical snow. I may just throw the road bike, the commuter, and the mountain bike in the van and choose the best tool for the job when I get there.

The only forecast I haven't seen is sunny, calm, and 70 degrees. So I'd wager even money on that. ;)

Can't speak for psimet, but I've actually been sick all week. I couldn't do my vo2 workouts, or my tempo workout this week. I'm just trying to get hours in. I'm definitely on the recovery phase now though. And my toe is purple. People at work are asking why I'm walking with a limp. I could take a photo of it, but being a member of polite society demands that I do not. Don't worry though. I'm not trying to sandbag because these are not reasons why I will be slow. Because I will not be slow. :p Just more general complaining.

Allow me to be the first..

I am NOT riding if the weather is half as bad as they're predicting. I'm burning two vacation days for this trip and want to enjoy it somewhat. Riding in 38-42 degrees and rain and snow isnt enjoyment for me. My question however is if the wife and I decide to still enjoy a weekend away, without the kids, will I still be allowed at the table Saturday night or are we blacklisted due to my wimpiness.

Otherwise, I may just go to work and save the vacation days for a nice summer weekend ride that I would normally miss due to work.

aham23

i will take 35 and little wind over 50 and 30mph winds any day. i still have nightmares of the 07 sudden. later.

Are you staying at the Chalet? If you are it is a 48 hr cancellation policy or one night's room charge. Just wanted to let you know.

Of course, you're allowed for dinner....let me know if you're not coming though. I'll change our reservation.

It may not be as bad as they're predicting, ya know?

I just remember looking up at some point and being totally alone. Too dang funny. I was somewhere behind Psi when that storm hit and I just put my head down and prayed to God to live. There really wasn't even anywhere to stop. I remember some nice lightning too. Ok, I'll take the 35* too.

PS Bring your running shoes just in case....sounds like perfect running weather if we can't ride.;) I always got a plan.

I will be riding some on Sunday regardless.....maybe. We've got the room no matter what and the family needs to get out of town for the weekend. Worst case we can get a cold wet ride in at 8:00am and get back to the hotel in time to shower and change before checkout.

Best case scenario we decide that there is no way anyone is riding by tomorrow night and can drink accordingly. Brewery tour at 9:00am anyone?? ;)

OK. I'm coming and will even bring the bike. However...If it's bad, I'm sleeping in and (yikes) shopping with the wife. I prefer warm shops, even girlie ones, to rain/snow in my face while riding. It's not like its gonna be a pleasant summer shower.

SmokinMiles, my wife and kids are dropping out of the dinner on Saturday since they're plan was to explore Madison. With that weather they don't want.

Now someone has a room booked in New Glarus and would care to share with me and my bike? :D

When where are we getting our beer on Saturday night?

Most are staying at the Chalet Landhaus on the main drag through New Glarus, which is within walking distance of many places to procure a cold beverage.

Many are heading to Monticello for a fancy dinner at 6 pm, though not everyone. If you want to show up to the Chalet Landhaus, I'll be in the area and ready to enjoy the beer enjoying.

Just getting ready to walk out the door for the weekend. Last check of the weather is looking much better for Sunday. Always does. We're down to a 30-40% chance. From weather.com - from experience that will mean it may rain for a short while in some places, but generally will look like rain the whole day without actually raining.

It will probably drop more throughout the day as well - good news. Now excuse me...I have to go race in a 20-30mph wind. :o

And yes I'm riding a gargatuan lousy bike that I hope will hold up and not kill me.
I do not however care what the weather will be, I'll bring a variety of unsuitable clothing and love it.
I'll be in a Scion with moo plates and riding a blue Schwinn, be gentle on me.
