So what weighs 59 lbs., has a 91 inch wheelbase and is
human powered? Well we bought one, used. It's a 2004
model without a scratch on it. It seems mechanically
excellent and comes with a rear rack, trunk, computer,
mirror and a couple bottle cages. Below is a stock photo
of one the same color as ours. We expect to take delivery
on it on Friday evening.

Whoo-hoo!!! Congratulations, cranky old dude!!! I've never seen a tandem bent. Can't wait to see some real pics. Great-looking bike.

59 pounds, what a flyweight. A guy I was riding with last month claimed his bike weighs 65 pounds and it only has one seat. 48 spoke rear wheel with double tubes and more baskets & racks than you can shake a stick at. Guy said he as never owned a car. The sad part was he was dusting me and I was on a Ti road bike.

You could get away with submitting that as N+2.

That's such a cool photo; makes it look 10 feet tall.

Nice. I think it would be a blast to ride one of those. Would love to get my wife interested in riding such a beast.

Yes. I've been watching it for several months now. The price has slowly
been dropping and it finally got down to what I considered reasonable. Beware on the towpath between Fairport and the locks at Canal Park. That's where we'll be riding, though only a few times per year. I thought the Burley was long with an 85" wheelbase but this is like driving a Tractor Trailer!!!

Heh heh! Thanks for the vote of confidence, but it won't go very
fast with the two of us on it, well maybe downhill it might. :o

Thanks Tom. Historicly we've only been able to ride together a couple of times
per year, but we enjoy it when we do. She's an indoors person and I'm
an outdoors person, though she does enjoy riding along the canal on the
reclaimed towpath. Even if her bad leg only allows us two or three 15 to 20
mile rides per season the investment is worth it. She's aged much more gracefully
than I have (and she's way easier on the eyes than I) but it's no longer
comfortable for her to ride her Mtn. bike due to ageing issues combined
with her neuromuscular problems. We're hoping this bike will get us a
few more seasons together out on the old towpath. The comfort factor
combined with the potential to add IPS (Independent Pedaling System)
should do the trick.

Ride reports will be posted.

Have tried a recumbent and not for me. I ride a Tandem so a Recumbent Tandem is something I would be worried about.

Great looking bike though but I think we would need Stabilisors on all but the smoothest of roads. And the speed that thing would get up to and how often we fall off the tandem- I would need a big first aid kit to even attempt it.

Beware on the towpath between Fairport and the locks at Canal Park.

Then you simply *must* do the "Hell 'Bent For Breakfast" ride. Meets every Sunday morning at 6:30 on the canal path at Clinton Ave, rides to Fairport for breakfast, then back. Nineteen easy miles, except of course, for the hour. Call me if you need a stoker. I can probably make anything work despite my 34" inseam.

First 'bent? Learning curve for riding this thing should be OK, since you already ride tandems. A low bottom bracket on a 'bent makes things easier. Sit back, relax, enjoy the view.

I've thought about it. I work most Sundays but if I do happen to
have a nice Sunday off I'll probably just show up with my EZ Sport.
I will keep the Stoker offer in mind though.

No, I bought my first 'bent last September....an EZ Sport CX, and I
absolutely love it. I did a century with it three weeks after I got it.
My bride's job as the Rear Admiral will be to sit back and enjoy the view!!!:)

91" wheelbase. Given any thought to how you're going to transport it?
