Hiya,
Just an intro to you folks from Hillsboro, NH. The wife & I, our black lab "Chewy" & our 2 felines just moved here last May from the west coast. Luv it so far - except the snow just won't go! I finally pulled my beloved old MTB out from the bowels of the storage shed - after it's traumatic trip across country with the movers I'm surprised it's still in 1 piece. Gotta buy the wife a new MTB as I hear Goodales in Concord is having a sale this week - any suggestions for a couple of newbies? We just like cruisin down the forest paths & dirt roads around here or when camping for fresh air & a little fun - nothing extreme for us. Attached a pic of my "vintage" clunker! lol.

Have Fun,
Matt & family

Hi Matt, check in with pastorbobnlnh--he's also in New Hampshire, and a great guy.

How old is the MTB?

Looks like a very nice rigid...

Welcome to BF!

Hey. Thanks for the welcome! Funny you mention PastorBob - I was just browsing some of the vintage forums & reading his posts about old bikes - will have to see what he's up to. My old Hutch is probably from 1985, dunno that much about it - I bought it about 15 years ago from a buddy who rescued old bikes as a hobby, got them up & rolling again & sold them for a few bucks. It needs a good cleaning & overhaul - part of the reason I joined these forums was to pick the brains of folks here on how to fix it up for this spring/summer. lol - I just realized that it's still the first & only bike I've had after I grew outta my BMX stage!

Have Fun,
Matt

There's a thread in the C & V forum for vintage MTBs--and the Hutch would certainly qualify. There's bound to be someone who can tell you more about it than I can, though.

Cool. I'll check that out too. Still getting my bearings on this whole site. There's alot of stuff on here of interest. Know of any forums that discuss nice places to ride?

Matt
