used Tufo extreme tape for my latest install and see that the edges of the rim/tire dont have a good seal like you get with glue... Is this normal?
With the tire inflated to 120psi I can roll the tire by hand enough to see a lot of carbon rim... Thinking of ditching the tape and going back to glue but would like to get opinions of Tufo tape users before my hands get messy.

Here is the thing. I have used it and love it for the convenience. Just used it Friday night to repair a flat a few hours before race time. Great in a pinch. However, does increase rolling resistance and saps a few watts there. I have used with Zipp 404s, a few carbon disc wheels, and an older alu tubular. Never had any problems. Three possibilities. One, I always use the tufo EXTREME gluing tape. I heard that they had one that was not as strong in the past. Maybe you have the regular? Two, the instructions are to use only with Tufo tires (though I have used with Contis and Vittorias with excellent results...never used tufo tire) as there is something to do with the tire coating?? that might make the seal not so good?? Three, the tape has a sticker that says "rim this side" or something similar. If you were to put it on the other way, maybe it would not work as well?
End result? I would glue tires normally to have better rolling resistance, but the Tufo tape is great when yo have to change a tire fast.

Im on Veloflex carbons and didnt scrape the base tape before "taping". I bet the coating on the base tape caused my issue.
Ill try the tape again this week.
