Due to my clydesdaleness, I am forced to consider custom built wheels on my next bike. In my research, I found Peter White Cycles website. This New Hampshire wheelsmith builds custom wheels at a very reasonable price and guarantees them for life. If a spoke ever breaks or it ever goes out of true, he replaces the spoke and trues the wheel while you wait, free of charge!
This means he builds outstanding wheels and I would not be afraid to order from him. However, if I happened to break a spoke, I would have to ship the wheel to him and back. If I had someone local do it, it would probably void the guarantee.
Does anyone know of a similarly qualified and experienced wheelsmith in the Maryland, Northern Virginia, D.C. area?
