You say it doesn't matter what you spell, that you're point will get across?

So, you could say

"I'm a little fat, and could chuck a few rocks."

But, take the t, and put a g. Take the ch and put a S. Take the R, and put C.

With that, it's a lot more information than we could ever want to know.

So, is spelling important?

:D

I'm not the originator. But I've done this with a crowd of Navy people in discussing email policy. You could see as it went along when people began to realize what was happening to the slower than average person I had picked to do demonstrate it...

William, I think you missed Denver's point. I didn't even realize the words were mispelled until I was half way thru the paragraph. He simply rearanged the letters rather than changing them, as you did.

Cycletourist,

I think you've missed the point that I made... :D
So, let me spell it out. If you don't spell it correctly, it can be, important to different meanings...

And mine was humour as well.

Beyond the humour, and reality that most of us don't check spelling as we read, there are other issues to where spelling is very important.

In "my" world, getting a point across strait, using correct termonology and acronyms is very important. There is a lot of real time communication in a text manner that, if not carefully used, would result in disaster.
