Does anyone have an opinion on these bicycles for sprint tri use?? I am looking at purchasing a new bike and was wondering about the Diamondback Meona 2008?? I usually only do 1 sprint tri per year.
This model has disc brakes?? Are they better or worse than linear??? I don't know what to get, but don't want to spend a ton of money for a new bike... looking in the 500.00-600.00 range. Any opinions??

Its actually Menona.
Its ridiculous to have a disk brake on this bike. They are great for serious hardcore dowhill mountain biking, but a set of cantilever or v-brakes are all you really need. You ever notice that pro road riders don't use disk brakes, its overkill.
If your against getting a road bike, maybe a flat handlebar road bike? Unless you plan on using it off-road, the thinner the tires and some decent components are what you should be looking for.
