All these aquisitions of "New" bikes and there are heck of a lot we haven't had pics of yet. And that is only one of the rules being passed over by not only the newer members here- But many of the established Regulars.

Then there is the pie rule- Very few mentions of what pie was had on the ride- and even fewer pictures of it in a cycle related "Pose"

Then I am still waiting for the reports of Clipless pedal related falls. They must be occuring- but no recents reports of such. Pics of such a fall while occuring are hard to get- but you can earn extra bonus points for such a pic- and no-one has ever taken advantage of this.

Then the pics of the rides are getting a bit scarce- but I suppose that is only to be expected at this time of year.

So get the cameras out- take it on the rides and post the results as soon as possible- They are now overdue.

Stapfam, you are so right. Here's a picture of my short ride today on which I fell over while clipped in, right into a pie.

But I have posted a new bike pic

You aren't getting any digital photographs from me, Stepfam. I'm a Retro Grouch and an unrepentent one at that. Do they still say "Bugger off!" in the UK? Even if they don't, that just makes it more retro.

You won't be getting any reports of pedal-foot-retention-device-related fallovers from me. (Sound of knuckle rapping on head.)

Key Lime Pie later tonight - I commuted on the Blue Goose today.

Here is a preview of my potential cyclocross frame:

I'm selling the Charger electric assist bike and will probably ebay the Goose to finance a Bionx kit for the cross bike.

I carried a camera on my ride today but never took it out of my pocket.

I don't have a new bike but I have a reconditioned one.
Replaced the DA 9sp with DA 10sp and a compact crank. New saddle and bartape too.

I don't eat pie much and certainly not on a ride.

I haven't fallen from not unclipping in many, many moons. Knock on wood.

Sunday February 24, Mendon Ponds Park. The people sledding looked at me like I was weird. They were the ones in the darned snow...

Sunday March 2, Chapel Hill at the University of Rochester. That's the Interfaith Chapel dead ahead. They ruined a perfectly good descent by putting that silly roundabout right in the middle of it. Worse, an otherwise-perfect line through it is mined with manhole covers.

Sunday March 2, the view blocked by my big ol' head in the previous shot--downtown Rochester. L-R: Times Square Building, Blue Cross Arena, Convention Center, a bank (with the flying saucer on top) that's been sold and sold again so many times I can't remember who owns it now, Kodak Office peeking out from behind Bausch & Lomb. The big black Xerox tower, modeled after the WTC in NY, a lawyer's office building peeking out from behind Xerox, JP Morgan Chase with the white vertical stripes, Midtown Tower, slated for demolition, to be replaced by Pae-Tek, HSBC bank, and finally 10 Manhattan Square high-rise apartments.

Sunday March 23, Spin Around the Bay with the RBC. This ride can only be done in the winter because on April 1st, this bridge is swung open for the season, allowing marine traffic from Irondequoit Bay to the south (and on the right) access to Lake Ontario to the north (on the left).

On the climb out from Glen Edith. It's much steeper than it looks here. I was wishing for my 12-28 cassette. Even with the granny on the triple, the 23-tooth big cog was too small. Paid for it these past two days.

So, there's my pics. Where's yours?

It will be a few weeks before the new bike (Trek 520) arrives. It's on order and should arrive mid May. Here's a picture of it but I would rather be looking at the real thing:) Mine will have STI shifters and a 175 crank. Those are the only changes I'll be making to it until I've had a chance to put a few miles on it.

Well, I will have a new road bike soon, but it will be at least two or three weeks before the weather and roads are suitable for anything other than my fat tire mountain/commuting bike. I will say, however, that this past weekend, after a howling blizzard on Friday, provided some of the best cross-country skiing of the year.

This Saturday I will be heading down to the LBS with my favourite saddle and to pick out some pedals and fine tune the fit on my new bike - I've put a deposit on it - easier to keep it at the store until I can clean out a safe spot in the garage for it. Pics will follow when I finally get it home.

Mmmm....pie. Is there anything it can't do?

See...now here's the thing. One of our highly valued long time members, Mojo Slim, trying too hard to comply with your wishes, becomes another victim of pie. Most likely he was merrily circling a giant pie while clipped in to his pedals, fussing with his camera, trying to get into position, when PLOP right into the giant pie he goes.

I just hope Mr. Slim is recovering as well as one could expect from such a horrifying experience.

This kinda stuff never happened when Webb Diego was around. I'll tell you that.

- awesome ride shots and stuff! - …

Great photos, and thanks for posting them. Deserved a thread of its own, IMO.

That's riding conditions I'll likely never get to see. Whilst the snowfields are a reasonably manageable drive from my place, there's no way known I'd cart my bike up there to go riding. Far too many city-folk driving about up there come snow season, and I'm damned if I'd trust my well-being to their shenanigans! I'd rather keep my distance, much as it looks awesome fun to go riding in that.

DougG: That's a vertical panorama from about 5 photos. It was just a quick experiment.

The trail was just about empty, since the temperature was in the 40s. I rode from Loveland to the factory and back, 13 miles, before a cycle club ride (map) (http://www.mapmyride.com/ride/united-states/oh/loveland/210435551) out of Loveland.

North from there, the trail is usually empty, and good for biking. It's busy closer to Loveland. I only get there occasionally, I'm usually riding closer to Cincinnati.

The factory is interesting:

My new Schwinn Le Tour GS. Picked it up last week and the first 80 miles on it have been a delight. I even decided to give the 5" wide Selle San Marco saddle it came with a try to see what it was like (being a Clydesdale I've been riding on MUCH wider saddles since returning to cycling last year) and I can't believe I am actually comfortable on it (even on a 30 mile ride). It is an entry level bike but is a big step up from my old MTB and even older road bike. Performance Bike Shop had it for $500 (33% off) and everything else I found in that price range would have been steel instead of CF fork and Sora (or less) instead of Tiagra RD plus Performance is only a few miles away and seems to have a few knowledgeable people working there.

My new Schwinn Le Tour GS. Picked it up last week and the first 80 miles on it have been a delight.

My first bicycle as an adult, after about a 30-year hiatus, was a Schwinn Le Tour 10-speed that I bought on a whim back about 1980. It was steel with friction downtube shifters, of course, but was still one of the prettier bikes I've seen in a sort of pearlescent gold finish. I had it long enough that I remember putting a child carrier on the back and hauling my son around a few times before switching to an MTB.

So it's nice to see that they have kept the model name around. I think I even saw something the other day about an all-carbon Le Tour that's available now with Ultegra, Mavic Aksiums, etc.

Just what I would expect from Retro- But The language over here is getting stronger- You are still thinking in the past- Thank goodness.

Now on the pie stakes- UK is not very strong on pie- unless it is Steak and Kidney. And Apple is about the most common- Or possibly Autumn Fruits- in october. However- When it come to Cakes- or Buns- or Gateaux- We probably have you beat. Attachment is of the selection at my Local Cafe (Well 10 miles away) that gets a regular visit from me.

My 30 year hiatus ended with an MTB but I added this '77 Le Tour II (dug out of the trash by a friend of mine) a few months later and it is what led to my decision to go with a new road bike instead of the new MTB I had been looking at.

I have a photo from a few hours ago that counts. I'm in New Orleans with my wife staying in the French Quarter. We rented bikes today (beater hybrids). We rode out to Tulane and Audubon Park, ate lunch at Riverbend, rode north a bit on the river front bike path and then came back with a stop to check out the Garden District. I got one shot with my wife and her bike in front of a house in the Garden District:

Pepper Steak

Edit: 'Gateaux' is french for 'cake'. Generally used, in non-french speaking countries, to mean very rich cakes.

Sensible 'fifty plus' cyclists should have long ago come to the realisation that maintaining a 'six-pack' belly reduces your body-fat to the point where your immune system is compromised, and leaves you susceptible to increased incidences of colds, flu and other ailments!

I put my own 'six-pack' into retirement after my fiftieth birthday. I figured I'd 'earned' the few extra kilos by then :D
