Surfing with the Allien is one of my all time favorites, don't forget Eric Johnsons "Cliffs of Dover" and anything by Stanley Jordon
Just listend to dreamming, another good solo. A drum solo that I don't think made the record "I am Sparticus" from the movie "That Thing You Do"

When I was younger I went and saw a concert in NY which had Eric Clapton as the headliner and Santana as the guest band. This was in the mid to late 70's. At the end of the concert Clapton was set to play Layla. Out comes Carlos Santana and John McLaughlin (arguably the 3 best guitarists of the era) and the three of them just wailed through the song. Never made it onto a record but was an absolutely amazing moment.

Song with the best base line has to be Lou Reed's 'Walk on the Wild Side'. I saw Herbie Flowers a few years back and he was as entertaining talking about his work (the base line on Mancini's Pink Panther theme was him, and he also formed Sky with John williams et al.) as when he was playing.

Guitar Solo-Bill Frissell
Drum Solo-Just about any tune that Elvin Jones has played on.
Best Guitar solo:
Alvin Lee and Ten Years After Live "Hey Little School Girl"
Hendrix's solo on All Along The Watchtower would be my choice. It's from another dimension.
Best Drum Solo (NO NOT IRON BUTTERFLY);
"Soul Sacrifice" Santana Live at Woodstock
ELP at a live concert during the 1970s. The stage was revolving around during the extended drum solo.
