I just got hit by a truck riding in South Carolina. The good news is: I'm alive. The bad news is: my broken right ankle won't be able to bear any weight for 6 weeks. Any recommendations for wheelchair workouts? Anything I can do to get my heart rate up? Thanks.

Can you use crutches to work out? Or just go distances in the wheel chair? It is a pretty hard workout in itself.

Also the good news is cycling is usually the first thing you can do, even before you are walking without crutches. I broke my right ankle last June and wasn't able to walk without crutches for a couple months, I was able to start riding stationary bike a lot sooner than I was able to walk.

Good luck. Also if you want a form for people with just broken legs www.mybrokenleg.com has a lot of info.
