Hi, my name is Anna. I am new to this so hopefully you might see fit to cut me a bit of slack as I will have some questions:) I am looking at buying my first bike in the next couple of weeks and I thought I might gain some great knowledge by joining this forum.

Hi Anna, don't worry, we like to think we are a nice helpful group of folks here :) .

What kind of bikes are you looking at currently, and what's your budget?

Welcome to BF!

Hello! I'm down here in Branson. I would highly recommend going to Sunshine Bike Shop. The staff there are extremely friendly and helpful. I bought my brother a bike from them. They treat everyone like family, and will also tell you all about the evening group rides that accommodates every skill level. A&B Cycle does have a larger store and a little bigger selection of products if you don't find what you are looking for. I ended up buying my road bike there.

Hello! I'm also in Springfield, and like the post above, I highly recommend Sunshine Bike Shop (http://www.sunshinebike.com/about.htm). Kay and the guys over there will definately take care of you, and their prices are competitive.

A & B is also good, with a larger selection, but I don't think you get as much personal attention over there even though they do a higher volume in sales.

Hope to see you on the road some day!

Hey everyone, I thought I would notice via emails of replys, I just got notice tonight... Sorry:) Anyway, I just picked up an older Mountain bike to get me by for a while, it is an 84' Schwinn High Sierra. It was kind of a mess when I looked at it, but I offered tha gal $25 for it and brought it home. It is sitting behind me right now in the kitchen. I have cleaned it up and adjusted the brakes. I am gonna switch it out to eith a single speed or 3 speed still undecided. I have spoke to Sunxhine Bike shop on the phone already, when I am ready, they will be ordering the Bianchi I want. It is a Milano, but that will be a couple of months:) Anyway, I live just a couple blocks from downtown on South Ave, Across from the ball field and park so I figure I will be riding mostly around town and do not need or want all the gears the bike I just bought has, and I thought it would be a fun project to play with:)
