Pedals locked up at mile 10 of a 12 mile ride, hopped off and found this jammed into the tension pulley of my 105 RD. It appears to be made of soft, pliable rubber (consistency of an automotive oil filter seal) and is molded in the shape you see, does not appear to be broken. I just want to make sure its not part of my bike, which after an inspection and test ride, it does not appear to be. However, I cannot imagine where or how this thing found its way onto the chain and into the tension pulley. Anyone have any idea what it is or where it may have come from. Kind of a noob when it comes to road bikes, so maybe its common to have random rubber parts jam themselves into the drive train? I was on a well traveled road at the time so it could be an automotive part, I suppose. It has this part number molded into it: 70 0195/2
