Do they work? If so, do they sell them at some place like Dick's?

*bump*

I'm curious too. Can anyone point to any independent research on their efficacy?

Have you tried one or do you know someone who's tried one? I'm not exactly going to use it for tri, but better oxygen intake would be awesome for my Pursuit.

I have one. Got it off ebay, $30 shipped. Kinda pricey, but it's completely modular for cleaning.

It is most certainly not a scam.

It's a helluva workout for your lungs, if you follow the directions (2 sets of ten, 10-second inhales/exhales).

In a healthy person your inspiratory muscles are not a limiting factor. Your diaphragm controls your lungs, your lungs are not a muscle on their own. If your trying to simulate hypoxic training there are debates all over the internet whether or not it is benificial. Your not simulating high altitude training because your not at a high altitude.

If you have lung issues for example you are recovering from pneumonia then this will definitley aid in your recovery.
