I can't see the pictures (firewall issues), but if the BB had no play, then you did something, and now it does, then you did something wrong.
EDIT: Also, it isn't unusual for a bike to have different components than listed on the web site. My Giant Sedona DX is roughly a 2003 model, but among all the variations I find on their site from 2002-2004, I find nothing that matches my bike exactly.
