The ones with the 8 inch rotor on the front. Specialized claims that fox told them that the eight inch rotors could break the fork. So if you have this model, bring it to your local Specialized dealer so they can replace the the rotor and adapter to the 6" one.

Lol silly move by specialized.... not only did they put 203mm rotors to fox forks...they also use XT rotors with Deore hubs...which isnt the best thing to do...they look cool, but ...they dont work as intended.

Whys that?

The fox brake tabs were breaking, and its all specialized's fault right?

Fox sets a limit of 165 or 185mm of rotor size on its forks. I think that specialized should read this before specing the 203 rotors on fox forx. Its not fox's fault. Fox clearly says about a rotor size limit. Same story with Pace forks.

If fox "clearly" states the rotor size limit, then I wonder why also, but there has to be some reasonable explanation that they did it.

I wouldn't worry about putting a smaller rotor on the bike if I had one. Wait, I do. I've had an 8" rotor on my fox for over a year. When I talked to Fox they said they aren't really having problems with it, it just comes down to the fact that they haven't been tested and had their lawyers sign off on it, so if you did have a problem they don't want to be in a position where they can get sued.

The issue isn't with the brake mount tabs breaking anyway, it's with the quick release trying to pull out. The larger disc gives the rotor 33% more leverage to try and pull your quick release down and out of your dropouts so keep a close eye on them. I did have some problems with my quick release but I replaced it with a stronger one and haven't had any trouble since.

I'm pretty hard on mine too, I've put a lot of time on it at Whistler, plus I like to do nose wheelies just for fun or to pivot on the front wheel around corners and I weigh 235lbs. If it can hold up to me it can hold up to just about any of you, 'cept maybe Maelstrom :)
