Bought nashbar time trial levers--the ones with the bar end plugs. I've got the lever mounted and secure but cannot figure out how to thread in the brake cable. The round nipple thing on the end doesn't want to fit in the slot above the whole

And what cable are you using?

dura ace road brake cable 1.6 mm x1700mm

You need mountain bike "lollypop" head brake cables. Standard road cables don't work

thanks---i least i didnt waste another cable set-----
how the hell is someone suppossed to know this stuff?

Where is the logic in that? No one uses a time trial lever on a mountain bike--so why dont they design them to be used with standard road brake cable?

No offense, I think it'd be fairly obvious upon inspection which type of cable head it'd use - yeah it doesn't make much sense in that it uses MTB style brake cables but eh.

well---i bought the cable before the levers arrived, so i'm not a complete idiot
