Added the following: Conti Ultra Gatorskins, Shimano M520 pedals and seatbag. Next change is a Brooks B17 Champion Special (black).

Ride it yet with new tires?
I just got them on about 9 PM, I went out for a couple laps on the street. The bike felt SO much faster, I'm taking it to work tomorrow for a lunchtime ride.

NICE! You could poke an eye out with those levers, though... :p

yeah, I know they're kinda high. They really don't seem that high when riding, I haven't touched them since I bought it. I did finally take all the reflectors off! :)

Well, I have some sad news....
The Element is going back to REI and I think I'm done with Novara bikes for the time being. I was out for a ride on my new tires today and noticed the headset is loose again and the the rear deraileur was skipping, it got progressively worse as I went. I realize these are minor adjustments, but I've only had the bike in my hands for 8 days and this is the 3rd time it would go back for adjustments that I don't feel should be needed this soon anyway. I'm really divided becuase the mechanic at my REI is so cool and treated me very good when the crank fell off, but...
So, today I'm going to go by Adams Ave. Cycles and see what Andrew can do for me.

Regarding the headset, do you know if it's a parts issue or an installation one?
The C'dale road bike that I got from the same REI store was installed pretty well except that the right brifter was loose. I could move that around freely with a little bit of force, which I didn't know is a problem until my other LBS fixed it for me.
Good luck with your new bike search. I guess your new bike may be a Bianchi Axis now that you're heading to AA. :D
