I just bought an ebike. With a little TLC, I was able to used it this weekend. The chain keeps falling off the gear at the tallest gear. The chain was loose and I took out 6 links but the sprocket is not perfectly straight. So I might as well replace it with something better . It came with a 32T which I don't think is the original.
I like something taller. Anyone know what it came with originally? Maybe 38-42T I am guessing. With 32T, it seems optimized for hill climbing with the gear ratio and not commuting or riding around town.
What is a good source for these?
The sprocket seems be on an odd one. The BCD is either 56 or 58mm which is very small for that gear count.
I got the chain ring and crank off with a special tool that I borrowed from a freind. I tried another crank from my spare parts
bin but the ebike crank has an offset in width to allow the wider body near the bottom bracket.
So these crank/chain ring are somewhat special.
Any pointers. I appreciate your help.

Thanks,

One solution I found is to get a chainring and sprocket from a 36V model. It has a 38 instead or 32T gear and has a standard bolt circle. I was then able to use a 40T gear from my parts box. The bike could use a little higher count still but the upper limit is in the high 40s. I have a 52T gear but it doesn't fit in the cavity alocated for it in the ebike body.
