How do you patch your crotch, I used to patch every holes with denim but nothing hold in place for more than two weeks. Yesterday, I tryied some iron-on patches but I realised that they started to rip appart after 20 miles...

What are you guys doing to prevent or repare premature crotch desintegration?

I don't care if it does'nt look good, If I could put some kind of rubber piece down there on my bike pants, i'd do it.

Do you have a sewing machine? Whenever my pants get rips in them I use the sewing machine to make the repair. What I do is, take the area that needs repairing, smooth it out as much as possible while aligning the edges of the area to be repaired the best I can. Next sew back and forth across the area connecting the two torn areas together. So if you have a vertical rip in the pants, you should be sewing horizontally back and forth across it. To reverse across the rip, just put the machine in reverse and guide the pants back under the needle. Try to go slow because you will get better results. Also, try to extend anywhere between 1/2 inch - 1 inch past the area being patched. The stitch I use is the one that is the smallest zig zag stitch. I have been using this method for a while now and some repairs in my jeans are still going strong even after several years of continued wearing and washing. It is not a pretty repair, but definitely works well.

use floss, double the thread up, and make sure you tie it really well so it doesn't come out. when i've had patching problems in the past, those tactics have helped.

cut your balls off. there should be less friction on the denim, hence saving your jeans.
