Introductions - newb with a fixie
Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

i just bought a bianchi fixie yesterday.
i build racecars and ironically i dont have a car to drive to work, so after a few kids flaked out on giving me rides (i live further south than anyone else i work with) i decided to buy a bike to get around
ive only riden it about 12 miles so far but its a lot of fun.
i still need to learn how to skid stop and i want to learn all the fun little tricks also :D
thanks for reading,

Hi Greg! Skid stopping is way cool, but make sure you still have a front brake, ok? We hate to lose anyone...
Although, if you build race cars, you are probably good with that concept :D .
What kind of race cars do you build?
Welcome to BF!

Oh, I like the photo on the track with the snow! There's a thread down in the forum called Foo for member's cars--you should post these there, too! Foo is for anything that is NOT bike related, so we can show off our other interests :D .
As for needig a kickstand, most of us find a nice white garage door, prop bike up on door, have drivetrain facing camera, and make do! I have a nice stone wall, too:

i finally figured out a good way to take pics of my bike!
it took a few minutes to get it to stand like that on the helmet with the wheel turned
i might paint it when i paint my car. its the same white lexus uses.
then i'd paint the wheels kelly green
is it a good idea to reverse the stem so my handlebars are lower?
i want some handlebars like these:

Nice job on the prop!
You might want to ask in the Bicycle Mechanics forum about the stem/handlebars...
