Introductions - many places

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Hi everyone!
I am an active duty Marine stationed overseas now. I'm on a business trip in the US right now and am looking to hook up on rides when I am on the road. South of DC for a while now but head home soon.

Wander over to the regional forums, and let people know when you will be in their area. What kind of bike are you riding?
Thanks for your service, and
Welcome to BF!

I've got a Centurion hyperdrive 4000. I just upgraded to this bike last December after a race over in Okinawa Japan.
Thanks for the welcome! Looking forward to more!

Oh, you have one of the German (?) Centurions? I don't think I've ever seen one in the US, but it certainly is a nice looking bike!
(Being a Classic & Vintage fan, I am used to thinking of the Japanese Centurions).
Put up a photo for the rest of us, please?

I'll be happy to once I get back home. On a long business trip in the US right now with no riding right now but head back in a few weeks. Once I get back, I put a pic up here.
The bike is awesome! I've never seen another one on the road. 18.1 lbs, ultegra all around, and I think it rides like a dream.

Wonderful! We have pretty much only heard of the German Centurions, and know of their existence, but I don't think we've had too many examples. Photos of yours would be great!

Here is their website. If you click on "bikes", "bike archive", and then down on Hyperdrive 4000, you can see what my bike looks like. I'll be home by mid April - I can post pics after then.

My german is not very good, but it certainly looks pretty lightweight!
Don't forget the pics when you get back :D .

At long last, here is a pic of my bike. Took it out for a short ride today after being away for 2 months. It is nice to get back on the road again! Also got a Garmin 705 when I was back in the US and installed it yesterday. Fun ride today!

Also - it weighs 18 pounds before I put the bag and water on it. Fun stuff!
